RFP Sections:     Background     General Questions    Functional Requirements     Cost

The Background Section allows you to present information to the vendors, such as project schedule, contact information, business volumes, etc.

Sample Background items from the ON-LINE CONSULTANT:

Administration
The company name is <insert name here>.
The time frame for vendor demonstrations and/or site visits is <insert date here> to <insert date here>.
The selected vendor's proposal and response to this on-line RFP will be included as exhibits in the contract with the vendor.
The vendor must state in the contract that all features and functions described in the proposal as part of the system will be present in the initially installed system.
Instructions
Provide these supporting materials: a) executive summary, b) company, c) software, d) hardware, e) references, f) documentation, g) implementation, h) sample contract, i) other.
The company section should include literature about your company, products and services.
The references section should list ALL customers. Provide name, address, contact person, phone, software, hardware and date installed.
The documentation section should describe all documentation included with the system. Include table of contents pages from the manuals.
The implementation section should include an implementation plan and training schedule. Also provide ongoing training schedules, class descriptions and costs.
Profile
The current financial system is <vendor name> running on a <hardware name, model> using the <operating system name> operating system.
The data communication network consists of <insert description e.g. fiber optic backbone, Ethernet, level 5 cable, etc.>.
